As another academic year comes to a close, I am deeply grateful for all that happens at Lubbock Christian University. Each year brings new opportunities to grow, serve, and celebrate the work taking place across campus, as we remain grounded in our mission, encouraged by our community, and continually strengthened by God’s faithful presence in the life of our university.

A Perfect Fit

One of the greatest accomplishments in all of sports, a perfect game is a feat in which a pitcher retires every batter in order. Lubbock Christian University (LCU) softball had only seen one perfect game in program history—thrown by Marissa Gonzalez (’08) in 2008—until sophomore Natalee Gray delivered the second on February 10, 2026.

Celebrating Excellence: 2026 L.R., Sr. and Ruth Wilson Teaching Award Recipients

Lubbock Christian University annually recognizes faculty members whose teaching, mentorship, and service exemplify the university’s mission through the L.R., Sr. and Ruth Wilson Excellence in Teaching Award. Established by former LCU trustee Dr. Ray Wilson in honor of his parents, the award celebrates educators who demonstrate a deep commitment to academic excellence and Christian higher education.
